Without a doubt it is the most heavily monitored, artificially inflated, propaganda sub on reddit. Sneezing in the wrong direction gets you banned.

Not a big socialist myself, but part of me feels bad for those that are. It seems almost all socialist communities on reddit care WAY more about intersectional and identity politics than they are about economics and basic human welfare. And don't get me wrong, there should be subs about those things, hundreds if you want... but maybe not every sub should be about those things? It certainly makes having conversations with socialists on reddit very hard. The few that aren't complete bad actors (looking at you chapo, "muh hog muh hog") are surrounded on all sides by language police that make conversation near impossible.

The days are fast approaching that any sub not explicitly against censorship will be explicitly pro-censorship. If you run a sub, even a relatively inoffensive or inconsequential one, be very careful about who you mod.

NTO has always been way way way far left. They're not going to just let you post something that undermines their worldview.

If it helps, "look but don't touch" is the best policy to have with TD. A million years ago I used to chime in there myself, even sometimes to argue with them. And no matter what I said, for or against, I'd have some shithead in another sub try to invalidate anything I said with "you t_d poster, orange man bad, you bad, me triggered unga bunga". Not that that won them the argument, but most people who make that argument do so because they're not clever enough come up with anything else. And taking that last tiny sliver of hope from them does my heart good.

You're not missing out on much with TD, I don't hate them either but I would never use them as a news source. They have bias in droves, even if they happen to be right more often than some other political subs. That said, they get brigaded more than anyone else, I don't blame them for banning what appears to be your alt account. Key word there being 'appears'. Maybe you just lurk a lot, but for the average user your account looks like an alt. I personally don't like bans based on assumptions myself, but I get why they'd be on edge.

This! I never used either until one day I was randomly banned from offmychest. Someone told me about trueOMC and it's a prettying interesting place.
