Comment on: A visual history of programming languages

It's okay to ask.

4chan is a copy site off the site that non-Japanese call 2chan. The real name of 2chan is Futaba Channel. It has nothing to do with the programming language though it does sound very similar.

Comment on: Am I wasting my time?

Thank you for the advice.

I am not the same as OP, so I do like working with HTML too.

Comment on: Am I wasting my time?

I am going to start studying CS this summer and the focus will mainly be on Java.

At what point should I start on side projects? I fear that it will distract me from my studies or that I will spend too much time hitting road-blocks when I come to things I haven't learned yet.

Another thing is that while I agree, I am not sure what a good side project entails. Creating a website for myself? Should I try to collaborate with others and get paid to do something? Will I intuitively know when I have a good idea and that it will be good to pursue it within the confines of my skill set? What will impress an employer?

Comment on: What music inspires you and encourages you to program?

Sorry if it wasn't too clear in the question but I am looking for music that directly relates to programming and computers.

Like the album "why's (poignant) Guide to Ruby". Or the band "British IBM".
