Comment on: Irish teenager wins national science award for deepfake video detector | The Irish Times
Does this kid not understand how GANs work? By making this "detector" you just make deepfakes better because it's an adversarial game between the generator and discriminator. His own "cutting edge" technology will be used against him

Comment on: DOJ Moves To Break Up Google; ‘Most Important Antitrust Case In A Generation’ | The Daily Wire
I think it's the nature of the industry to naturally shift towards monopolies. People want a few handful of sites to be used for the majority of their uses, and as long as people continue to use only one site for a need instead of multiple, tech conglomerates will exist no matter how many times you split them. People don't want 3 different versions of twitter or instagram

Comment on: NVIDIA expects GeForce RTX 3090 and RTX 3080 shortages to last until 2021
Scalpers are simply a symptom of a much larger problem. How many people are willing to keep a product that goes UP 2x in value the minute you receive it? You'd just be sitting on money at that point
