Comment on: Permanently banned for r/TinyHouses without explanation
I think "scam" might be a bit harsh, but they are definitely not the environmentally friendly alternative that they once thought they were. I watched the same video a few days ago and found it very informative.
Plus there was a shipping container apartment recently that had to be canceled indefinitely because the containers have gone up in price so much and are hard to find.
But.. A lot of these things these days don't care about facts, only money.

Comment on: The r/food moderators believe acrylamide (food char) is safe. Auto-moderates dissent to their pseudoscientific perception. Stonewalls, mutes and bans due to dissent. Another default subreddit
Another way to look at this is.... People don't give a fuck if they are told a little bit of char can contribute to cancer because EVERYTHING around you does the same thing. Ever been to Cali? Everything has stickers that say "Cali identifies this item as having chemicals that can cause cancer." Everything!
Better to just enjoy your food and stop worrying about the little things. And I bet the mods see so many people posting about cancer they are sick of it. I would be.
If your afraid then don't eat it. Leave other people enjoy their food.

I have no problem with her, or anyone else, having all that. It's the fact that they are dictating to the rest of us that we can't do it. And the fact that the masses are just going along with it. What the heck is wrong with them?

Reddit mods just promote their friends, who all think the same, and the admin shuts down any subs that dare not to think the same. Reddit has become one big echo chamber.

Off label drug use, in the USA, is nothing new. Thousands of doctors prescribe off label things that haven't been approved by the FDA.
What's more, the USA, and the FDA, aren't the only government sources in the world. Step out of your bubble for a bit. The USA is one country, there are hundreds of others, and they have approved drugs and treatment that the USA hasn't, usually for monetary reasons.
How did we go from hating our health care system in the USA, and believing it was just a bunch of greedy bastards, to trusting it whole heartedly?

That's what I hope. From things I have seen I think it is relatively safe for most people, with a higher chance of some nasty side effects than the FDA usually allows in a drug. Kind of like back in the old phen/fen days when doctors were prescribing drugs they didn't know enough about and a lot of people now have life long heart problems because of it. But... Money.
The truth is its an experimental drug. We don't know the long term side effects because we've never used it before. But it does work in lowering symptoms for the beer bug. So what do you do with an experimental drug we don't know the symptoms for? Force every human in the world to get it, apparently, regardless of their risks from the beer bug.
Things are messed up.

I have the vaccine and I'm kind of worried about it. Never in my life has a government tried so hard to shut down discussion of something...unless it was something that they didn't want the public to know "for their own good" like the whole snow den thing. Media lied for them, and so many people bought it.
But then... Maybe we just didn't know how much they lied and kept from us before.

Comment on: Reddit Users Censoring Each Other, and Outright being Terrible “People”
That's why new tech is so important. With the president of the USA admitting that he is pressuring people to be banned from major social media platforms (and actively dating if you are banned from one you should be banned from all of them) it is imperative to move away from main steam and get the little guys working.

Comment on: Reddit Users Censoring Each Other, and Outright being Terrible “People”
The general group flocking to reddit these days are either marketers, or the masses of unthinking copycat "say whatever gets me liked" types. Generally they stick to the default subs so if you unsub from the defaults and find other subs you will get a better viewing experience. (though that will only last so long)
Reddit is now a main stream social media platform, and just like all main stream social media it is subject to the whim of the mob. Individuality is thought of as an anathema.
We are in a new Era of communication, and still getting used to it. We, as a species, used to value conformity in order to survive, and it was only over many generations and social upheaval that we started to value individuality... in some countries. But not every culture values individual choice, so when you mix a bunch of cultures together online you're bound to have some clashes.
Hopefully individuality will win... But it's too soon to tell.

I've been trying to wake my boyfriend up. It's really hard because the people on the left who blindly follow don't actually follow the news, they just read the headlines, or get bits of info here and there. When you really start paying attention, that's when the blinders start to shift.

Why do you think the MSM talk about "uncle Joe's" socks, his dog, the hearts on the lawn.... But they don't mention the virus much, or the protests and riots still happening in big cities, or the millions of people out of work. They only mentioned those before because Trump =bad.
Truth is an illusion.

Comment on: The Forbidden Prompt : [WP] Turns out that there was never really a plague spreading across the Earth. You just thought there was, because you died at the start of the year, and have been in Hell ever since. Hell, as it turns out, greatly resembles your homeland. In most ways. At least at first.
Some of the art sub reddits gave a no covid policy period. Not because of controversy or "fake news" or anything, just because they are trying to get away from the topic as it is depressing. But this could totally be reworded....
"The last year was the worst you ever had. The worst the world ever had. Hell on earth. And it's only on new years day when everything is reset that you realize it really was hell after all."
Edit : I was neither agreeing nor disagreeing with their policy, only stating a reason why it could have been deleted.

In the US it really depends. Most people are only wearing them indoors, and a lot of smaller towns just don't even bother. I think it's stupid they make you wear them in restaurants to go sit down here in Texas but no one actually cares about protecting people, just appearing to protect them now a days.

Honestly it doesn't matter who the person is. Either rights are. For everyone or they are for no one. That old adage of "first they came for the socialists...."
In this case using political bias to shut down the truth is just under handed.

The UK just did a report about the makeup of those committing the crime. The refuse to release it. They have been afraid of being called racist for some time. That is why they didn't prosecute some of the perps until backlash got too high. Another person was arrested and put in jail for standing outside the court house to covering the story of some of the perps. The person was held in jail for weeks, in general population with people known to have a hit out on the guy. They wanted to cover it up that much.
The 20,000 number has been in various news articles as well. Yes, it's pretty accurate.

It doesn't seem like it's a word, but rather a phrase that caused it. My guess is that anything that doesn't support certain agendas is auto censored.

It's odd to me how against "religious" schools some people are. My boyfriend, and all his friends, went to a catholic private school. All of them are atheist. Most of the kids who went to the school are, but it was (and is) one of the best schools in the area. They have an amazing arts program, and endeavor to teach kids not only math and science, but how to get out in the world and excel.
Shouldn't we all want that for our kids?

Even among fights there are, at least in the USA, degrees of violence. Simple assault is usually a fine with a night in jail and full assault is much worse.
If throwing people in jail and fining them will help if be all for it, unfortunately I don't think it will stop this thinking that anyone who doesn't believe everything I believe should be shut up.

It's the entire "punch nazi" thing all over again. If you don't agree with them they must be nazis and you can punch them.
I lost so many friends because I was adamant that pouncing someone for speech is wrong and just makes their position stronger. I got called a few choice words because I prefer to talk to people instead of using violence.
This is the new left. Violent and intolerant.

Comment on: /r/The_Donald has been shadowbanned. It is completely unsearchable on Reddit and is supposedly also being throttled on Google.
Alternative platforms are starting to get bigger because of it. The thing is they are banking "conservative" voices, but the audience for a them are mostly in the middle politically. Those of us who see there are good points on both sides. If you silence the people I want to hear from so I can make my own decisions I'm just going to follow them to the alternate platforms.
Which is good because then the alternative platforms start getting more diverse thought, and that's what matters most.
