Realistically, defense spending does go into the pockets of Americans. No one wants to admit that GDP increases during war. Redditors want to believe that money given to Lockheed disappears into billion pockets, but Lockheed directly employs 115,000 people, and indirectly benefits tens of thousands more. And that's just one company.
