You probably signed a document that spells that out for you. Most of them carry the verbage of if the company does it or wants to do it, it belongs to them. Also anything done while being paid by them, belongs to them.

Oh No! I have been outed.
I don't code anymore, but my designs use code that is being developed under agile. Every time I stick my nose into that process I walk away with a shiver down my spine and thanking God that I do not code anymore...
