Dude on the other end of a phone keyboard....you keep saying that but the leaders of the countries on the Eastern front of NATO can't rely on your hunch.

Russia's invasion of Ukraine reminded everyone specifically why NATO exists in the first place.

Gotta love how we 'figured out' how to 'install' these NATO countries next to Russia when these countries have existed for hundreds if not thousands of years already.

Our allies in NATO fucking care and if they get dragged into war, so do we. It's as simple as that. Provide aid to Ukraine specifically so that the war STAYS in Ukraine and does not spill over to Poland or Romania, Latvia, Bulgaria, etc.

Those other countries absolutely care and they will care alot if they are attacked. The also won't be able to buy anything from America if they are spending all their money on a war effort meaning that our economy takes a hit. You want to be unemployed because your company's earnings dropped due to war in the countries of their customers?

This is the answer. The reason why we're able to discuss anti-war sentiments and bitch about where our money is and is not going is specifically because our money has gone into projecting our military power in regions across the globe and keeping those conflicts there and keeping them minimized as best as possible. An uncontained conflict pulls in our allies and means that people here get sent overseas to actually fight and with how our recruiting goals are going, a draft may become a reality making that overseas conflict really fucking real for many young people here.

The issue revolves around the size of the overall community. Because Reddit is so big, it's increadibly easy for user to get lost in the sea. So when a mod abuses their power, no one knows as no one remembers any one user and no one builds a sense of community. We're all nameless bots here that can be disposed of willy-nilly by mods who abuse their power.
