That's true for any app through. It comes down to whether or not you trust the other side of the conversation.
It would be cool if they could implement the screen security feature (no screenshots) on both sides of a conversation. That would make it a bit more secure. Right now it's just on your side.

Isn't a side benefit of E2EE is that you can't enforce a "content policy" to begin with?
This is also another reason to remove the phone number requirement. Someone inside the company could block a known phone number, prevent the usage of Signal. But that's pure speculation on my part. I don't know if they even have the capability.
