Comment on: Comment mentioning clip of Chomsky talking about censorship, even of holocaust deniers, removed from thread at worldnews about canada censoring those folks
It's scary to me how many people, who see themselves as free thinkers, are willing to limit speech. Particularly in nations that are known for their free speech.

Comment on: The largest Chinese dissident subreddit has been banned from Reddit.
And be promptly ignored.

Comment on: Banned from r/popping for responding to a rule breaking comment with a rule breaking comment. I was banned. They weren’t. I’m leaving this shitstain aka Reddit. How do I change all my comments to “Reddit sucks” before I go? I remember seeing it but can’t find it.
I agree it's disgusting but I'm fine with letting them have their space. I don't have to participate, after all, and they can't force their content on me.

Comment on: I’m being told that TwoXChromosomes is an official subreddit. How is this possible?
If you hate someone because of their skin color, what are you?

Comment on: This /r/SandersForPresident thread was locked because so many people were criticizing AOC that the sub lost control of the narrative.
The fucked up part is that a lot of people don't even *care* about the hypocrisy.

Comment on: I've never laughed so hard in my life. I'm banned from what? Who cares about your version of pseudoscience?
Lmao "nonewnormal users are antiscience!" - witches

Comment on: Can't make this shit up, they dare call themselves opposed to fascism
Hell of a way to create an echo chamber even beyond the control of the users' votes.

Comment on: Are these guys using bans to advertise their sub? I've never heard of them before.
Well you see, if it doesn't align with the proper narrative, it is dangerous to said narrative.

Haven't you heard? Those aren't *real* black people.

Comment on: State of the sub
You want the mods of r/redditcensors to start censoring.
9 18 Apr 2021 21:18 u/mostnormal in r/RedditCensors
Comment on: Many subs have banned me for calling it out
Backlash. They got called out on it and the Streisand effect ensued.

Dissent.

Probably just on the "new" redesign.

Gotta maintain those high fear levels.

Riots?? People have a right to protest! /s

Comment on: This comment got me PERMANENTLY banned from r/politics for “inciting violence”. Absolutely uncalled for.
I was referring to legal ways of preventing it. I can't speak of what the other guy meant by dragging him out of office, but it does seem to suggest violence.

Has he overstayed his term yet? And if he were to attempt it, do you genuinely believe the rest of the nation would just throw up their hands and say "well I guess that's how it goes!" and let him?

Comment on: No bias at all - none whatsoever. (r/worldnews)
It's really not. You're just the type who prefers to silence those you disagree with.

Comment on: Mods over at r/science steering away at the narrative
I understand what's going on and support the protesters. I do not consider rioting and looting your own (or anyone else's) community a valid form of protest, that is just selfishness and anarchy.

Comment on: Cant point out the obvious on r/nextfuckinglevelofcensorship (locked too ofc)
I agree. But that's the only reason I can see why they *moght* have nuked them.

Comment on: Anti-China post removed as soon as it reaches the front page
Post an anti trump joke. I bet it stays.

Comment on: /r/coronavirus censors a rational examination of the statistics behind COVID-19 which leads us to strongly consider the real harm has been caused by media hysteria and overregulation by the government
Yeah, I don't lean very heavily on that sub. It's far too political for something that shouldn't be. And they seem to like to instill and propagate fear. Everyone should be concerned and try to get informed, but not terrified.

Comment on: Banned from r/politics for expressing opinion
They're trying to keep themselves looking squeaky clean in case reddit decides to quarantine.
17 05 Feb 2020 05:05 u/mostnormal in r/RedditCensors
Comment on: R/News removes 500+ comments (92%) in thread about illegals removing American flag and raising Mexican flag
So it's okay to censor even the benign ones because there weren't more? Small groups of dissenters are so much easier to censor lol! /s
15 13 Jul 2019 17:28 u/mostnormal in r/RedditCensors
Comment on: Conservative politics group /r/The_Donald completely censored by Reddit
I would argue that being downvoted is a form of censorship. Just because it's perpetuated by the people who frequent the sub (and probably some bots) doesn't mean they aren't consciously trying to hide dissenting opinions or even worse, prevent people from even sharing such opinions in the first place.

Comment on: ANYBODY HERE HAVE A STORY THEY WISH TO SHARE?⇨ "The White House launched a new system Wednesday to collect stories about free speech censorship on social media." ⇦SEE ARTICLE!
My only caveat to that argument is that when you curate content, you become the publisher of all content on your site.
6 17 May 2019 08:44 u/mostnormal in r/RedditCensors
Comment on: /r/PoliticalHumor. Where it's only funny if it leans liberal. Strange how anything with a conservative leaning just "isn't funny."
Have you *seen* that sub? The vast majority of the content is low effort and not funny.
6 23 Mar 2019 16:02 u/mostnormal in r/RedditCensors
Comment on: "Editorials, opinion, analysis are Disallowed submissions" in /r/worldnews.... unless you're a moderator of worldnews.
Well, opinions they don't like are.

Comment on: r/The_Donald bans me for asking for a source and thanking the person.
Seeing that argument made is infuriating. It in no way invalidates the td poster's argument, but for those who "call them out" it seems to magically make themselves rightcheous and the td poster scum of the earth.

Comment on: "and when I visit these websites, are they going to constrain what I can say, to only let me say certain types of things, or steer me to certain types of pages?" - Aaron Swartz
Careful. That kind of talk will get you quarantined.

Not there.

Comment on: Admins have banned /r/UncensoredNews
As yes. Because there are *tens of millions* of literal Nazis on reddit all day long.

Comment on: Admins have banned /r/UncensoredNews
He's not making an excuse. He's saying if you don't like that sort of content then don't seek it out. As to the content of your comments: They are disgustingly racist, but none of them are calling for violence which is why the sub was banned.
26 12 Mar 2018 21:18 u/mostnormal in r/RedditCensors
Comment on: /r/AgainstMensRights removes Civil Rights Act
Yeah, because those evil whiteys don't deserve rights. I disagree with the sub almost entirely, as it appears full of racist bullshit, but to make a sub that appears to be against all whites having rights is just inane.
6 15 Jan 2018 22:28 u/mostnormal in r/RedditCensors
Comment on: /r/news mods selectively deciding what is "primarily politics." News about US ambassador to Netherlands is not "primarily politics." News about DACA? Apparently so political that it gets you banned.
Out of curiosity, do you prefer the flavor of fear that CNN or WaPo peddles?
8 13 Jan 2018 22:39 u/mostnormal in r/RedditCensors
Comment on: /r/News is arbitrarily removing posts from their sub without any notification, citing a mysterious list of domains that are not allowed. They refuse to share the list or even hint at what could be on it.
Holy shit. They're right. The left can't meme.

Don't be silly. Facts have been hateful for years.
