Comment on: Rumour: Low end GPU market will disappear and this guy has a good theory as to why it may happen.
we'll see, but i don't completely buy the notion of low end GPU's disappearing any time soon. lots of times there are going to be non-gamers who just want a cheap $20 card that can drive 2-3 monitors with the connectors of their choosing.

Comment on: Does anyone know of a free way to have just a generated I.P address for hosting a game server?
your options for free solutions are going to be extremely limited. if the concern was only your dynamic ip, then you could use one of the various free dynamic dns services and it would be problem solved. unfortunately, you have said it's also a privacy concern where you don't want people to know your ip address, so that won't work (since someone can just do a dns look up, or ping, or wireshark the traffic). free proxies/vpns you are likely to run into various issues with speed/performance/caps presumably, given what you've said, is it a fair assumption to say that your "testers" will be a small pool of people you already know/trust? if so, dynamic dns from someplace like [freedns](https://freedns.afraid.org/) would do the trick.

Comment on: Windows 11 upgrade could be a free for Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 PCs
seems unlikely. it's being reported that windows 11 will **require** TPM 2.0. needless to say, any computers running windows 7 or 8.1 aren't going to have this chip in there (and while it can technically be added, it would make no sense given the age of the machines)

Comment on: Apple Is Sued for Telling You That You're “Buying” Movies
this could potentially have broad reaching impacts in other markets as well depending on what the court finds. it's a given that if the courts rule against apple, that will just be the first domino in a chain reaction as sony/ms use the same language when they "sell" games that can be revoked at any time for any reason.

Comment on: Apple wants touchscreens to work underwater
this would be huge. for some professional reasons here will be applications where working underwater is a major benefit, and personally some people will appreciate the novelty of this, but the real draw for the every day person is that it means touch screens should work well in the rain.

Comment on: Yahoo Answers to shut down May 4, 2021
that sucks. i don't use the service on purpose, but have come across good content there in the past when googling for things. wish they would have just locked it and made everything read-only with no new posts being possible.

Comment on: Boston Dynamics unveils Stretch: a new robot designed to move boxes in warehouses
now if they can make a robot to actually deliver the packages, maybe my stuff will actually get delivered properly from amazon/usps/fedex. it's insane that ups is the only company that can follow simple instructions. ups gets it right 90% of the time, amazon and fedex are like 50/50, usps fucks up EVERY SINGLE TIME.
