Comment on: Would you pay to use an ad-free search engine that doesn't collect your data?
Just because you pay for their service does not mean that they keep their promises,

Comment on: PSA: Scalpers are hoarding TPM2.0 modules (of course they are), don't pay $100 for one
This is the sort of rubbish that stops hobbyists from being able to boot their own custom OSs. It is best if we send a message to Microsoft that we do not want this.

Comment on: De-Googling your life. An extensive guide.
Bing search engine is not listed, which is a shame as it works well. And all of the map alternatives suck.

Comment on: Nvidia confirms it accidentally unlocked RTX 3060 Ethereum mining
It is hard to trust a company who arbitrarily controls their product's performance. Will these cards fail to function if used with a non-nvidia driver? Do I own the card - or merely lease it?

Comment on: Why Intel's chip production troubles should concern us all
They made a conscious decision many years ago to not be in the lead in fab tech. Made enhanced profits for a while. Now they pay the price.

Comment on: Patreon is banning QAnon conspiracy theorists, joining a growing group of tech companies taking action against the movement
An excellent article, and the first time that I have seen an article in the MSM about Q Drops: "While many QAnon followers base their beliefs on “Q drops” from an anonymous “Q” figure on the messageboard 8kun, the movement is now spread by QAnon influencers who analyse and explain the “Q drops” for their followers." See the drops from Q for yourself at https://qanon.pub/

Comment on: Airbus announces concept designs for hydrogen-powered airplanes
But they could never get the energy density which was required for trans-continental flights - until they came up with the revolutionary idea of binding the hydrogen with carbon atoms. They call them carbo-hydrides.

Comment on: ByteDance, Oracle at loggerheads over terms of TikTok agreement
It is good to see President Trump being strong on this issue. From the article: "“If we can save (TikTok), we will save it, and if we can’t we will cut it off. We have to have total security,” Trump told reporters before departing the White House." Just block their IPs and DNS entries if they won't play. Damn ccp bugs.

Comment on: Microsoft and Zoom join Hong Kong data 'pause,' will not process data requests made by Hong Kong authorities
The article says that zoom has ties to china. So this latest piece of virtue signaling from them is to make us believe that they are of the free West?

Comment on: Zoom Promises To Do Better After Banning Tiananmen Square Protests—Then Builds Tech To Help China’s Censorship
Yes, you can have multiple people (we had 4) on one call, all with video. Would be perfect for distance education - except that china is involved in it somehow.

Comment on: Zoom Promises To Do Better After Banning Tiananmen Square Protests—Then Builds Tech To Help China’s Censorship
There were multiple warnings here to not use zoom. In the end, under pressure, I used it on a pc where it worked ok. Then my PC got sick and I found it had malware on it. Now deleted. The whole concept of a group video tool like this is wrong. Because everyone can be seen at once in video it leads to a group think where everybody is unconsciously pressured to agree with whomever is talking.

Comment on: My chrome browser seems to be hijacked by wifiblaster advertising
Thanks @Septicaemic, that seems to have done the trick. Found 22 PUPs and one threat. Thinking back, I had to install (with reservations after bad press here) zoom on Saturday. Then things started going weird. Zoom is now gone as well.

Comment on: IBM laying off thousands, seeking “flexibility” during COVID-19 crisis
They are using china Virus as an excuse to lay off workers in Western nations and then will later replace them with Indians and other lower-paid county's people once business starts to pick up again. That has been their MO for years now. We need to tax these services delivered from overseas more so as to discourage these practices.

All I saw was robots walking around. They walk through a vineyard but never pick a grape. Does not seem that these are going to be automating farm work anytime soon.

Comment on: Boris Johnson to reduce Huawei’s role in Britain’s 5G network in the wake of coronavirus outbreak
Any Western country allowing in chinese tech now is committing treason. For when the battle with china comes - and it will - all of this chinese gear will have to be switched off to stop chinese spying and meddling. At that point that country will have a 5G network with huge holes in it due to the decommissioned gear.

Comment on: Trump Says Tech Giants Controlled by ‘Radical Left,’ Vows Action
Archived at http://archive.is/kFnb8 Yes, President Trump is correct in saying that these platforms are controlled by the left. The only solution is for them is to have zero censorship. If we are going to be free then we have to be willing to see opinions with which we do not agree. The leftys, however, want to turn all of these platforms into their own little socialist echo chambers, I have been censored on fakebook and reddit, and now deplatformed on twitter. At least ruqqus has been censorship free.

Comment on: Netflix urged to slow streaming to prevent breaking the internet
I find that the recent netflix-produced content is full of SJW nonsense - to the point where I only watch old classics there now. So, my care factor is pretty low.

Comment on: Microsoft Unveils Xbox One Series X Specs And Shares Some Cool Details
I have a 360 and an Xbox one, and a win 10 PC. My PC is so superior to the xbone. So I know how they play and look. As for this new series X, CPU-wise it sounds good. But an 8x increase in graphics over xbone seems inadequate and will not be good long term. I don't know about flops and all but if they want to future proof it for a few years then they really need to be designing in the equivalent of a Nvidia 1660 or so now.

Comment on: Social Security Numbers Leaked
From the article "The Defense Information Systems Agency, or DISA, is responsible for providing IT support to combat missions, in addition to securing White House communications," This leak is scary in that an agency like this should be ultra secure. Now they have potentially leaked payroll data of soldiers on active duty. What happens if someone starts targeting them or their families?

Comment on: Censorship and Fake News Could Ruin the Internet, If We Let It
The real problem is when we start self-censoring ourselves to appease the sjw's. I write without hate, but the left would shut me down claiming offense and that I am a racist misogynist just because I hold a viewpoint that is not ideologically as insanely left as theirs. Then they will dox me and cause me grief. That is why I don't post on Fakebook any more. If I didn't self censor there I would be destroyed publicly.
