It really depends on the kid. I loved fiddling around in Game Maker Language when I was 10. My 10 year old sister, however, has zero interest in it whatsoever.
Fuck GitHub. They have been removing repos for using words they don't like, e.g., Webm For Retards, and tried to spawn an army on Twitter with #CleanUpGithub.
