Oh my fucking god, it was a glorified chat bot at best, the world has plenty more, just not nearly as famous.
This isn't the next thing to get all PC and SJW over. It was one of millions of iterations that we'll go through before we hit anything worth our attention. We're not going to make it very far if people make a big stink over each little iteration of wannabe ai chat bots. When it's clear one has gone off the deep end, cut losses and start work on the next, shit's expensive, time even more so.

That's a glorified chat bot in my books. I have high standards that probably won't be satisfied for at least another 25 years, if ever.
