Comment on: Linux Outreachy Program pays women $5000 to make trivial whitespace changes

This also brings up the issue of resumes. I hate resumes. They objectify people. But what's more, they generally call for a sickening amount of hyperbole, exaggeration and lying. And perhaps I'm guilty of that too as most are. But what does one do to compete in a field flooded with half truths? I may be a very capable person, but to look at my actual resume, you might think me of some lowly brown slave class. So then I act like a jew to offset this... but who am I to deny you the deception you are addicted to. I'd like to be a straight shooter, and I've had some success with it, but I've been greatly wanting for work, so I will do what I have to.

But then, I find there are two kinds of hirers- the idiot robotic ones who are all about resumes, credentials, and stereotypes and the wise ones who see you as a person and realize the power therein.

This is kind of a big issue, which some established careerists are by nature inured to. It's a big issue because HR is a gateway to many folks, particularly the unorthox, to gather resources with which to make an impact...
