Pygame isn't awesome if you need high performance, but it is a much better solution than PySDL if you need to display and work with simple 2d graphics.

There's very little out there worth memorizing. It does however help to be aware of what's available. When you find yourself in a situation where it'd be useful, you'll know where to look.

Regardless, it's what I would recommend too. Particularly, the low level stuff. Got to learn logic gates and flipflops, ALUs, control units, CPUs, ISAs, operating systems and so on.

That'd put you way above the riffraff.

Honestly speaking, as an engineer. You do have to learn things by yourself.

If you feel you can't, then even more so. In this industry, this skill (learning with minimum dependency on others) is at the core.

Fortunately, Python has an official tutorial, and it is good, like the rest of its documentation.
