Dude, stfu. We don't need your "don't hate me" spiel. Just be a mod.

Comment on: What do you listen to while you write code?

Pandora isn't available in your country? Is it a US only thing?

Comment on: What do you listen to while you write code?

Same. I started a new job this past week, and I haven't logged into SO or started listening to music yet. I need to be as productive as possible, and music would get in the way of that. There's a clean, enjoyable feeling to just doing my work in silence, having some conversations around the office, and then going home. Similar to the feeling of not using electronics for a week. Anyway. This was a longer reply than i expected.

Comment on: Learn Ruby by playing a video game.

I had quite a bit of fun playing this, but I feel it's for intermediate to advanced programmers. Beginners would get lost on the very early levels. "Define a @health instance variable" would throw any beginner off.

Comment on: A sub for Objective-C!

Implying Objective-C is not a hipster version of C. Let's put brackets around it everything, add a function name before all the parameters, wrap an Apple library around it, change a few more things, and call it Objective-C. It'll be different! It'll be us! The syntax will be unlike anything the world has ever seen! Edit: My bad. They stole some syntax from Smalltalk. Still hipster.

Comment on: Language of choice?

Agreed, but I wish its type system was as diverse as Scala's. And I wish you could create your own native language constructs.

Comment on: Language of choice?

CTFE is nice, but it doesn't really replace LINQ because the values have to be known at compile time. It looks like D does in fact have lambdas though.

Comment on: Language of choice?

You had me until you said you translated Java to D line for line lol. Though I will probably take a look at the language again. About to Google CTFE.
