Comment on: Gaming glasses for programming

have something light up the wall behind your monitor doesn't have to very powerful, I myself is using an RGB Led lamp currently set in a whitish bluish color, I get less tired and less headaches aswell :)

Comment on: Atom Users: What packages/themes are you using?

well, I was using defaults, but mostly because I also use Sublime text 3.

But now my current setup is:

Packages

  • minimap: Displays a minimap
  • minimap-git-diff: Displays git diff within the minimap
  • emmet: Emmet expands abbreviations for HTML, CSS, Sass/SCSS and LESS
  • Omnisharp-atom: Allow for C# development in Atom

Omnisharp dependencies

  • Advanced-new-file: Create multiple files and directories by typing a relative path
  • json-schema: Json Schema enhancements
  • atom-yeoman: Code generator to an initial c# file
  • linter: Used by Omnisharp to visualize errors and other kind-of messages

Themes

  • atom-material-ui: Material theme, without distractions.
  • atom-dark: pre-installed syntax.

I have a very similar setup in Sublime text 3

Comment on: How to destroy Programmer Productivity

This is so damn true, especially if you are learning to code while at school, and other come to ask you for help about their coding issue, and suddenly you have no idea, what you were doing 2 min ago..

Comment on: Visual Studio 2015 Final Release - July 20th

Well if you are a company who are more than 5 people you have to pay, unless you work on open source software or is a school.

I guess it is to allow people to learn how to use visual studio while having almost all the features :)

Comment on: Visual Studio 2015 Final Release - July 20th

Community edition have all the same features as premium edition and its free if you are in team of 5 or less or as many as you want working on open source.

Personally after using 2015 RC I can't go back to 2013. :)

Comment on: Hey /v/programming - What's your favorite language to program in and why?

First language was C#, and i really like it because of the many uses it have, that you can easily swap between, Web Dev, console applications, WPF applications and so much more, and with it being made cross-platform now, i am only getting more fond of it, because it means I can write software for the Linux machines I have, in C#.

The language I really want to learn later on is C++ because the name is awesome pretty much, so yay!

Comment on: Docker, CoreOS, Google, Microsoft, Amazon And Others Come Together To Develop Common Container Standard - A truce in the balkanization of the cloud?

If all the Containers become compatible, then it will be awesome since you can migrate your containers, so the only difference is the commands and Host OS that are different, just like with the new WebAssembly that they are all working on! I have high hopes for this.
