Sounds like they .NETed it?
Comment on: Stupidest Mistake you've made lately? Here's mine.. Just locked myself out of a new server.
I stole a keyboard from someone because I used it to change the password. Got it on the second try and we changed it to what it was supposed to be...lol

About once a year I'll change a password and enter it wrong with the same mistake twice. So instead of Password1 I'll do Password2 or something, but the rhythm/pattern and keyboard keys feels right so I go with it. I'm more likely to do it if I don't change passwords often.
Haven't done something like this in a while, so thanks for the jinx! 😂
Comment on: How to fix any bug in software
It takes more than 3 clicks...
Comment on: Of course, I never do this...
It isn't just programming either. Earlier today, this conversation happened...
User: I'm only able to see the email sent from a phone if I'm replying to it. Me: I'm sorry, I don't understand. U: I don't receive the email sent from a phone unless I reply to it. M: . . . U: You look perplexed... M: How do you reply to a message you haven't received? That's not possible. U: . . . M: Do you receive the message, but the body doesn't show until you click reply? U: Yes. M: How often do you shut down or restart your computer? Reopening Outlook should resolve it.
Ironically, this user is a programmer.

I don't know much about coding (I did take a QBASIC/BASIC/VB6 class in high school), but I'm 100% certain that won't run, I don't even think it will compile.
Comment on: Coding Saves
I worked at a hospital group that had some stuff running on BASIC, and this was only a few years ago in 2013.

Wait....they can't code basic logic or can't code BASIC logic? That phrase could go either way, so I'm just trying to get a clarification.
I've experienced the rest of this comment, and I'd like to add, don't go to SF for tech! I've heard nepotism runs everything up there. Los Angeles isn't as bad, but might as well be. In LA, it seems to be more about the school(s) you went too than anything else.

Go download Linux/Win10 and nuke it. If you can't do that, backup the OS drive and then nuke it via restore. I'd just buy a new drive and start fresh.
There are corporations that give the department hiring the resumes to go through. Not all corporations are dictated by their HR departments.
